Short Bio

Vanessa Braganholo is an Associate Professor at the Instituto de Computação of Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) since 2010. Before that, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She holds a Ph.D. (2004) and a B.S. (1998) degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). She received the Best PhD Thesis Award of the Brazilian Computer Society in 2005. She has a productivity research grant level 2 from CNPq since 2007 and had a Young Scientist research grant from FAPERJ from 2010 to 2016. She has published over 100 papers in journals and conferences. Recently, she has served as PC Chair of IPAW (2020, 2021), PC co-chair of the SIGMOD Jim Gray Dissertation Award (2021, 2022), PC co-chair of the VLDB DEMO (2018), PC chair of the Brazilian Symposium on Databases (2015), and PC-co-chair of the SIGMOD DEMO (2015). She has served as an Associate Editor of PVLDB vol. 15 (2021), and as a senior PC Member of CIKM (2022). She has served as a program committee member of several conferences such as ICDE (2021, 2020), VLDB (2018), IPAW (2018, 2016), SBBD (2018), and TaPP (2016). She serves as the editor of the Distinguished Database Profiles of SIGMOD RECORD since 2011. Her research area is databases, and her current research interests include databases and provenance.
