A falta de conhecimento a respeito de fluxos de dados implcitos dificulta o entendimento e a reprodutibilidade de experimentos. Nesse trabalho, apresentamos o ProvMonitor, uma abordagem que identifica a criao, alterao e acessos aos dados mesmo em fluxos de dados implcitos. Alm disso, ProvMonitor relaciona as informaes capturadas com a atividade do workflow que as produziu, permitindo aos cientistas comparar os dados produzidos durante uma execuo ou entre diferentes execues do mesmo workflow. Essa comparao permite identificar efeitos colaterais na evoluo dos dados provocados por fluxos de dados implcitos. O ProvMonitor foi avaliado e foi possvel identificar sua capacidade de responder a consultas de provenincia em cenrios que demandam conhecimentos especficos a respeito da provenincia de fluxos de dados implcitos. Abstract Scientific experiments represented as scientific workflows may create, change, or access data products not explicitly referenced in the workflow specification, leading to implicit data flows. The lack of knowledge about implicit data flows makes it hard to understand and reproduce the experiments. In this work, we present ProvMonitor, an approach that identifies the creation, changing, or access of data products even within implicit data flows. Additionally, ProvMonitor links this information with the workflow activity that generated it, allowing scientists to compare data products within and throughout trials of the same workflow, identifying side effects on data evolution caused by implicit data flows. We evaluated ProvMonitor and observed that it is able to answer queries for scenarios that demand specific knowledge related to implicit provenance.
